LAGOS MAINLAND LOCAL GOVERNMENT EMPOWER’S WOMEN TO BE BOSSES

…ESSIEN SENSITIZES WOMEN ON THE IMPORTANCE OF SKILL ACQUISITION

Lagos Mainland Local Government Women Affairs and Poverty ALLEVIATING Unit in conjunction with NEMAPP/SPEED UP LAGOS organized a two weeks empowerment program for women within the Local Government Area tagged *WE CAN WOMEN EMPOWERING AND CAPACITY NETWORKING*. At the Council Secretariat on Monday 15th July 2024.The Executive Chairman Lagos Mainland Local Government Hon Mrs Omolola Rashidat Essien welcomed all to the grand opening of the skills acquisitions program organized to empower women to be bosses, she encouraged them to stay focus and be steadfast in learning what they enrolled for because at the end of every tunnel there’s Light.Facilitator Mrs Deborah Owolabi  from NEMAPP/SPEED UP LAGOS said the classes will be in both written and practical, and at the end of the two weeks program students that are serious and want to start up immediately will be granted a Soft Loan from Lagos State Trust Fund to enable them start from somewhere, the offer ranges from ₦100,000 to ₦500,000. She adviced the students to be zealous in learning in order to achieve the purpose of acquiring a skill.They will be taught how to make soap, catering, party souvenirs, hampers amongst many others that are available, students can learn more than a skill if they so desire.The program will expose the participants to trainings in the production of souvenirs, body spray, hand sanitizers, W.C cleaner, body wash, anointing prayer oils, laundry detergent, birthday gifts, hamper basket, table calendars, spiral bonding design note pads, customized paper bags, artistry coconut shell cups and More. Hon. Toyin Fanoike, the chairman house committee on women Affairs and poverty alleviation, in her vote of thanks, geared the participants to be focused on their training, practice more, and showcase their skills after training Dignitaries at the event were the Leader of the House, SLG, Executive Members, Management Team.
