KOSOFE LGA PARTNERS PAWAPLAY TO LAUNCH NIGERIA’S FIRST ELECTRICITY TOKEN PALLIATIVE

History was made in Kosofe Local Government Area on 2nd April 2026, as PawaPlay Digital Limited, in active partnership with the council under Executive Chairman Barr. Moyosore Ogunlewe, launched what is believed to be Nigeria’s first dedicated electricity token palliative programme across all 774 local governments in the country.

One hundred verified, vulnerable households each received ₦10,000 in prepaid electricity tokens, loaded directly to their pre-registered meters — offering immediate relief to families for whom consistent power supply remains a daily struggle.

Beyond the tokens, the Pawa Up Naija initiative carries a wider mission: educating ordinary Nigerians about the electricity value chain and connecting grassroots communities to affordable renewable energy solutions.

Kosofe is Batch One of a bold roadmap targeting 1,000 Lagos homes, with a long-term vision to reach every local government across Nigeria.
