DOING GOOD ACROSS LAGOS EAST: SENATOR MUKHAIL ADETOKUNBO ABIRU DISTRIBUTES FOOD PACKS TO 10,000 HOUSEHOLDS
Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru has conducted a comprehensive food distribution programme across the Lagos East Senatorial District, reaching over 10,000 households in 16 local government areas and local council development areas.
The simultaneous distribution occurred in five primary local government areas: Ibeju-Lekki, Kosofe, Epe, Somolu, and Ikorodu. Speaking at the Ikorodu constituency office, Senator Abiru emphasised the initiative’s purpose of supporting vulnerable constituents during the festive season.
Demonstrating an inclusive approach, the food packs targeted diverse demographic groups, including Christians, Muslims, youth, students, persons with disabilities, artisans, and the elderly. The distribution process followed equitable selection criteria, ensuring broad representation across the district’s 98 wards.
The Senator, who chairs the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions, aligned the initiative with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s expectations for elected officials to provide relief, particularly in light of recent economic reforms.
Prominent political leaders, including the APC State Chairman Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi and former Deputy Governor Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, commended the Senator’s exemplary leadership and constituency support at the event.
