Lagos Mainland Chairman Emilagba Honoured with Hall of Fame Induction and Doctorate Award in Ghana

Mayor Jubril Kolawole Emilagba, Executive Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government, has received one of the most distinguished recognitions of his public service career, following his induction into the 2026 Hall of Fame by the Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics, Ghana.

At the same prestigious ceremony, Mayor Emilagba was conferred with a Doctorate Fellowship in Strategic Leadership and Public Resources Management in West Africa — an honour that places him firmly amongst the continent’s most respected voices in public sector governance.

The induction was presided over by Professor Babatunde Akinsanya, alongside Dr Phillips and Mrs Victoria, who each paid tribute to his exceptional contributions to governance and institutional leadership.

Receiving the award with characteristic humility, Mayor Emilagba described the recognition as both deeply humbling and a personal charge to do more. He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening institutional frameworks and delivering people-centred initiatives that tangibly improve lives across Lagos Mainland.

That a Nigerian local government chairman is being celebrated on an international platform speaks volumes — not merely about the man, but about what purposeful, ethical leadership looks like in practice.
